This was the very first golf course designed by world-renowned golf architect Rees Jones. Arcadian Shores is a “traditional” layout with natural blend of beauty and challenge. It features big lakes, deviously placed bunkers, tree-lined fairways, Bermuda greens and distinctive contouring. It was selected by Golf Digest as one of the Top 100 Golf Courses in America three years after it opened. It is on leased land and the lease expired a couple of years ago, so the operator, Kingston Plantation, have only been performing token and cosmetic conditioning, which has resulted in bumpy and spotty greens, tired bunkering and overall poorer conditions. Number 13 here was, in the past, consistently considered to be one of the Best Water Holes in Golf.
