Finally, after three years of starts and stops, the Sea Gull Golf Club has completed their makeover, and has been creatively renamed the Founders Club at Pawleys Island, not to be confused with the original Founders Club at St. James Plantation. The redo was done by a relatively unknown golf architect by the name of Thomas Walker. The operators claim to have invested $7 million in the facelift, which included a new clubhouse. The biggest changes are the dramatically improved tee and green complexes, extensive bunkering, Bermuda fairways, Emerald Bermuda greens and a practice putting green at the first tee. This track measures 7,007 yards from the tips, and is relatively flat, but compared to the clunker it was, it’s now a Lexus.
