With the opening of Parkland, the Legends trilogy was completed. This traditional style course offers a distinct contrast to the first two Legends courses; Parkland demonstrates the diversity and beauty of the natural terrain with contoured, tree-lined fairways, vast natural areas, deep-faced bunkers and massive, multi-level greens. Parkland’s design is modeled after the style of architects Alister MacKenzie, (Augusta National) and George Thomas (Riviera Country Club). They renovated their greens in 2003, and the feedback has been favorable ever since. Their parent company, Legends Resorts, crashed and burned in 2009 to the tune of more than $53 million. Century Golf Partners, a part of Arnold Palmer Golf Management, picked up the pieces, and have done an excellent job of maintaining the high standards the Legends was well known for.
