



Once one of the best tracks in the area, for quite a while it became quite yo-yo like ups and downs, mostly downs. This layout features seven holes along a mile and a half of the Shallotte River, undulating, tree-lined fairways, marshes, five sets of tees, rolling terrain, 40-foot bluffs and large greens defended by water and strategically placed bunkers. In 2001 Rivers Edge was Rated the 7th “Best New Upscale Golf Course” by Golf Digest as well as being selected by Golf Magazine as one of the Top 20 “Best New Courses that you can play” in the United States. They redid their greens last summer with a salt resistant seaside passpallyum grass which has been a big improvement, and will, hopefully, prevent any future problems with their greens.
