



Currently ranked No. 41 on Golf Digest’s 100 Greatest Public Courses and No. 17 on their Best Golf Courses in South Carolina rankings. They are No. 100 on Golf Magazine’s Best Golf Courses You Can Play rankings and No. 6 in South Carolina on GolfWeek’s Best Courses You Can Play. This is a traditional-style tract, located on a beautiful, rolling, salt-marsh peninsula, with nine very scenic holes overlooking the expansive salt marshes and Intracoastal Waterway. Sadly, the conditions at Tidewater deteriorated, especially with respect to the fairway, last year and they lost their long-time MBGA Player’s Top 20 ranking. While they have been working on various problems with their conditioning it continues to come and go. The inland holes wander through a forest, and water hazards come into play on six holes. In 1990 Golf Digest named it the Best New Public Golf Course in America, but development has also taken away some of the luster.
